Details: 

   In recognition of the legislation passed to abolish slavery in Washington, DC on April 16, 1862, a program will be held to highlight the historical and cultural contributions of African Americans in Washington, DC.  Attendees should arrive early and be prepared to present a proper government ID (drivers license or any other local or federal government issued I.D. Card).    Part of the Howard University Lecture Series.
