Noted historian, lecturer and author, Mr. C.R. Gibbs, will speak to the Gallaudet University community about the "Triumph of Freedom: Slavery, Emancipation, and the Civil War in the District of Columbia."   This presentation will be followed by a book signing at the Bison Shop. This is the kick off event of a semester long celebration commemorating the Sesquicentennial Anniversary of the District of Columbia Compensated Emancipation Act of 1862.
