Timothy Wise, an internationally-acclaimed author and lecturer on the issues of racism, discrimination, and "white privilege," will speak about slavery and emancipation, and the residual impact slavery has had on the African American community today. This event is part of the Galludet University semester long commemoration of the Sesquicentennial Anniversary of the District of Columbia Compensated Emancipation Act of 1862.
