A presentation focusing on the role of Lincoln in the DC Emancipation Act of 1862. This program will include a Q & A session.

Introduction by Commissioner Howard Marks of the DC Emancipation Day Commemoration Commission.

David J. Kent is President of the Lincoln Group of the District of Columbia, is on the Executive Committee and Board of Directors of the Abraham Lincoln Institute and is a member of the Board of Advisors of the Lincoln Forum. He is a respected Abraham Lincoln historian and successful multi-book author, as well as an award-winning scientist. He is the author of “Lincoln: The Man Who Saved America” and previous books on Nikola Tesla and Thomas Edison. His newest book, “Lincoln: The Fire of Genius”, examines Lincoln’s commitment to science and technology and will be released in September 2022.
