GALLAUDET UNIVERSITY CELEBRATES THE SESQUICENTENNIAL ANNIVERSARY OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA COMPENSATED EMANCIPATION ACT OF 1862

Noted historian, lecturer and author, Mr. C.R. Gibbs, will speak to the Gallaudet University community about the "Triumph of Freedom: Slavery, Emancipation, and the Civil War in the District of Columbia." This presentation will be followed by a book signing at the Bison Shop. This is the kick off event of a semester long celebration commemorating the Sesquicentennial Anniversary of the District of Columbia Compensated Emancipation Act of 1862.
